At bedtime I have been reading aloud for Gregory and me a book by Dainin Katagiri called Each Moment is the Universe. So far it has given me solace in knowing, shared in my own words:
Life is but a moment
Death is but a moment
Sorrow is but a moment
Joy is but a moment
Everything is impermanent
Nothing has substance
Moments happen so quickly
That by now it has passed
So all being equal
Which they are in Zen
And the way of being time
I am content
